Elder

An elder who is responsible for equipping the saints for the work of service to the building up of the body of Christ.

While continuing to faithfully display the characteristics of a disciple, lead a DNA, lead a Missional Community Leader, and Coach other MC's, an Elder should be able to fulfill these further personal qualities.
Leadership Responsibility
​
The primary leadership responsibility for an Elder is to lead congregations.
Ministerial Responsibility
​
To equip the saints for the work of service to the building up of the body of Christ. 
Discipleship
​
To teach theology and serve as a Christlike example.
Vision
​
Creates vision for the church
Strategy
​
Thinks strategically about the faith family as a whole.
Colloboration
​
Works THROUGH a Team of Leaders.
People Development
​
While maintaining personal willingness to be developed, the Pastor creates and maintains a culture of discipleship and development.
Skills
​
Primary skill to be trained is one of vision.  By God's grace and His indwelling spirit, to see a preferred future so that leaders would be capable of making disciples.
Scripture Focus
​
We select the books of 1 and 2 Timothy for a Pastor because of it's focus on the ecclesiology.
Stewardship
​
To be a faithful steward of their personal giftedness while faithfully stewarding opportunities with church resources.
